Service And Sacrifice: Not Just For The 2 Legged

We often talk of the support of our troops for their service and sacrifice, but often forget our 4 legged soldiers that help keep others from harms way. Our tribute to them....................

  6. Beautiful tribute! I traced Layla's pedigree all the way back (before I found out that for $30 I could've paid someone to do it and save myself all the research) and a few of her ancestors served in World War 2, and also participated in the first expedition to the South Pole. Unfortunately in one of the Antarctica expeditions, when it was all over, they put all the dogs on an ice floe with explosives and sent them off to sea. How's that for honoring your partner? >=(

  7. Oh I love this! I remember reading that somewhere along the line they have changed the rules so that dogs are no longer considered "equipment," and they can't be left behind (or floated out to sea, for heaven's sake!). I wish I knew where I read this!

    Very cool post. :)
